Pleasing to the eye |Utah/Nashville photographer

As I have continued to try and change habits this year, I came across one that I really want to adapt this year.  In the book that I am still reading (PUSH), Chalene Johnson talks about how important it is to not eat things out of the bag.  Eating out of the bag turns into saddlebags, she says!  In one part she shows a picture of her fridge and pantry and how she makes it easy for herself and her family to make good food choices.  Not only that, it looks clean simple and very organized.  I LOVE it!  I am definitely doing this to my cupboards and fridge when I move in a few weeks.  It’s nice to be able to start out fresh!  Anyway, her tip is to divide all of your bagged items, into single serving baggies, or see through dishes (for the fruit and vegetables). And place them at eye level, so when you open your fridge or pantry the good choices are staring you right in the face.  She places her snack foods (single servings)  in little wicker baskets, and that way in her pantry it looks very clean and organized! Then put all your foods that are not the best choices, (cereals, high calorie items) on the highest shelves so that you would have to get a step ladder to get to them.  Genius!  I have heard of dividing things before, but I think the key is to make it all look very pleasing and appealing to the eye!  When you open your fridge and see all the colors of your fruits and vegetables and it’s all clean and ready to eat, it makes for very easy meal choices! I wish I had a picture to show you, but I promise when I get my cupboards stocked in my new place, I will take a picture and show you! In the meantime, here is one I found on pinterest that looks pretty good!
